Inspired Science… or NOT

Posted by magicstar7 on January 4, 2008

How long did it take to come up with a project that required the use of Viagra on a Hamster?  If you like that, you’ll love the alternative source for Vanilla… Both projects listed as “winners” of 2007 Ig Nobel Awards.

No science here… just a melodic brain teaser. Name that tune.  He sings it backward. Good Luck!

Painting and Numbers

Posted by magicstar7 on December 20, 2007

Time out for me invloves switching from writer mode to painter mode. Alexandra Nechita is an amazing artist. I like the light and joy in her work. She believes angels glow in the dark. So do I.

One of the places I like to play with time-out art: Mr. Picassohead.

And today, thieves made off with a real Picasso.  Took ’em 3 minutes – to  get a 50 million dollar haul.

How to  unload that? Ebay? Too obvious. They could keep an eye out here. Tons of Picasso… however, 70 percent off 50 million might be a tip off … and a bargain!   : )

P.S. Thank goodness some of us think in pictures. Caught this Grinch in the act.

Inspired Cello – Jammin’ Strings

Posted by magicstar7 on December 17, 2007

Making a difference… making waves….

Cellos rocking out to The Final Countdown is getting rave reviews amongst the web set. (The Hair helps!!)

Who knows, it might create a cello revival. If it does, see Steven Elisha. He’s great with kids (of all ages) eager to unlock their inner Cellist. Mr. Cello tours the world…and Iowa. Track him down here. A Cellist to remember.   : )

Yo Steven! Brought back memories. I met Steven during his stint with The Kansas City Symphony when I heard this amazing cello music from my back yard and wanted to buy the CD. Turned out Steven was “practicing” for a performance. He lived next door.

Cool Cats

Posted by magicstar7 on December 14, 2007

Tomorrow will give us something to think about.– Marcus Tullius Cicero

Say “Hello” to tomorrow and “Welcome” to the Glow in the Dark Cat – Live. Designer colors sound enticing but the reality is the cats are being cloned for a more practical reason. They help science.

However, glowing fish have been cloned for the pet market … It’s probably a matter of time before the cats join the club.

Craft or Skill?

Posted by magicstar7 on December 12, 2007

It’s a strange world of language in which skating on thin ice can get you into hot water. – Franklin P. Jones

The most effective (and least addressed) method of derailing a wonderful new approach is to start arguing about semantics.  If and when you fall victim to such a display, give thanks for the revelation and counter it with action.

Those caught up in argument have found an alternative source of entertainment that will keep them out of your hair while you bring your creation to fruition.

*Capitalizing on the alternative source of entertainment factor: Crazy “Science”  – Diet Coke and Mentos –

Boldly Going on Tour

Posted by magicstar7 on December 11, 2007

To explore strange new worlds
To seek out new life and new civilizations
To boldly go where no man has gone before…
part of the opening narrative to Star Trek.

And to think, this phrase caused a bit of a stir… “to boldly go” …or “to go boldly”.

No matter. Action speaks louder than verbs.

Star Trek – the Tour – kicks off January 2008.
